MLK Day events focus on diversity in Holland
Free events Monday January 18 honor Martin Luther King Jr. Day across Holland with the Holland Museum offering a virtual and in-person family program How Would You Change The World at 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Downtown Holland hosting a 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Virtual DEI Day on its Facebook page featuring live and pre recorded panels and interviews led by Halo Halo Multimedia’s Jennifer Pascua and community leaders including Robyn Afrik.

Saugatuck students shine in Best of the Best show
Saugatuck Public Schools and the Saugatuck Center for the Arts present a monthlong Best of the Best highlight show featuring juried K 12 works. Through February 10 pieces are on display in the SCA gallery and online via SPS and SCA sites. in person viewing is weekdays 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with COVID safety.

Local schools report low active COVID cases across district
Week of Jan 11 marks first time since early November that all area schools returned to in person learning. Holland Public Schools list eight active student cases across four buildings and two staff cases. Holland Christian reports five student cases and two staff cases with 19 students in quarantine.
