Pennington leaves Zeeland East for Caledonia
Derek Pennington steps down as Zeeland East football coach to take the head coach job at Caledonia High School starting next season. He cites fit with Caledonia and the OK Red as factors, noting Zeeland East memories and a successful 13 year run with four conference titles, two district titles and a regional championship. Zeeland East went 4-3 this season, with a playoff forfeit due to COVID-19. Caledonia went 4-5 and lost to Mona Shores in the district round.
