Two teens Brandon Michael McBride and Tyane Jamar Barnes 18 Grand Rapids and Grandville respectively were charged in an armed robbery and carjacking in Allendale Township on December 16. McBride and Barnes arraigned December 21 with bonds set at 150000 each.

The Senate unanimously passed the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative of 2019 raising FY2022 GLRI funding from 300 million to 375 million and promising increases to 475 million by FY2026. Co sponsors include Rep. Huizenga Upton and Sen. Stabenow. The bill now goes to President Trump for signature.
In Robinson Township a 21 year old Grand Haven woman driving a Honda CRV failed to yield to a westbound GMC Denali driven by a 68 year old Zeeland man. Both drivers were transported to North Ottawa Community Hospital with non life threatening injuries. In Tallmadge Township a 58 year old Grand Rapids woman was injured when a 94 year old man from Grand Rapids turned into her path while turning onto First Avenue. He was cited for failing to yield. Both crashes remain under investigation.
