Holland man gets nine to forty year sentence in fatal crash

Cameron Burrows, 42, was sentenced by Judge Jon Hulsing to nine to 40 years for causing a January crash that killed 65-year-old Sandra DeBoer and seriously injured her grandson Gavin DeBoer at the I-196 Business Loop and 104th Avenue intersection in Holland Township. Burrows pleaded no contest and received credit for 79 days already served.

New leads in 40-year Port Sheldon cold case murder

Police reopen a Port Sheldon murder case from July 1977 after 40 years. Deborah Lynn Polinsky, 20, was found dead in her New Holland Street farmhouse bedroom with stab wounds and blunt force trauma. No weapon, no motive yet. investigators say the cold case was renewed about 18 months ago.

Man gets life for jogger’s death in Michigan

In Muskegon a 36 year old woman’s killer, Jeffrey Willis, was sentenced to life in prison after a court hearing where he blew a kiss to the courtroom. Judge William Maretti granted him permission to have spectators present for the ruling. Jessica Josephson, sister of victim Bletsch, commented she hopes Willis faces harsh consequences. Willis was arrested last year.
