Hamilton superintendent apologizes for game ejection incident
Hamilton Community Schools Superintendent David Tebo apologized for being ejected from an eighth grade basketball game against Grand Haven on December 3. He said he would self-impose a two game suspension from attending eighth grade games to model proper fan behavior and to respect referees. He also apologized to Grand Haven Superintendent Andy Ingall and urged better treatment of officials.

Crash caused by green light mix up in Tallmadge Twp
Two drivers, Scott Vantzelide and Annah Chouinard, reported green lights at Lake Michigan Drive and Eighth Avenue leading to a collision around 8:11 p.m. on Tuesday December 11 in Tallmadge Township. Vantzelide, 47, of Grand Rapids, is in good condition at Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital. Chouinard, 30, of Allendale, sustained minor injuries and did not seek hospital care. The Ottawa County Sheriff's Office continues the investigation.

Norton Shores man injured in I-96 crash in Polkton Township
A Norton Shores resident, Thomas Dusette aged 52, was injured when he lost control of his vehicle on westbound I-96 near the 16 mile marker in Polkton Township around 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday December 11. He was treated at Hackley Hospital and is listed in stable condition. No witnesses have been found and the sheriff's office continues the investigation.

Ottawa County allocates ten thousand dollars sub grant under Sustain Our Great Lakes Phase II to study wetlands and shoreline at Ottawa Sands. Parks department adds fourteen thousand dollars as project support. Study will guide 2019 master plan for 345 acre dune property between Grand River and Lake Michigan Barrier Dunes with campground, beach and recreation facilities.
