White Christmas elusive in West Michigan winter forecast

West Michigan has seen several snowfalls but experts expect no major snowstorms before Christmas Eve. A white Christmas requires at least one inch of snow on the ground. Holland area forecasts show a 60-75 percent historic chance, while CPC data put West Michigan at about 60.5 percent yearly. Warmer temps mid 40s next week could melt existing snow in Ottawa and Allegan.
