Father pleads guilty in death of son in pool
Timothy Koets pleaded guilty in Ottawa County to involuntary manslaughter and fourth degree child abuse in the March 2019 death of his 16 year old son Sam Koets who drowned in the family pool. He also admitted to obtaining a controlled substance by fraud. Sentencing is set for Jan. 18.

A 36 year old Comstock Park man was injured when his PT Cruiser rolled over on Lincoln Street in Robinson Township near 136th Avenue. Alcohol and speed are suspected factors pending investigation. Minor injuries in Holland Township and facial injuries in Tallmadge Township occurred in separate crashes on December 8 and 9.
