Michigan Legislature approves taxes on out-of-state online sites
Michigan bills to require remote sellers to collect the 6 percent sales tax won final legislative approval, potentially yielding 80 to 120 million dollars annually. Much of the revenue would fund public schools. The Senate unanimously backed the measure, with Gov. Gretchen Whitmer expected to sign. The plan also codifies thresholds for tax collection based on sales or transaction counts.
