Night Sky Show In December Brings Rare Planet Pair
Planet viewing this month offers a rare conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn near the southwestern evening sky. Closest on December 21, the pair will fit in a single field of view with binoculars or a small telescope, and a Geminids meteor shower peaks the same night if weather cooperates. Observers are urged to view near six o'clock, on clear evenings, and to use a tripod for best results.
