Ex Perrigo employee gets prison for theft and restitution
Laura Arlene Barnett, 53, of Grand Rapids, was sentenced to one year in prison and ordered to pay 435,021.96 in restitution for stealing about 414,000 worth of Perrigo supplies from its Allegan headquarters and selling items on eBay to buyers in the United States and Canada. The case, investigated by the FBI and Allegan County Sheriff's Office, cited a bipolar disorder and compulsive shopping as factors.

El Jaripeo opens in Fennville with limited carryout service
El Jaripeo Mexican Restaurant opened in downtown Fennville on Tuesday November 17 offering carryout only due to statewide dine-in restrictions. The new eatery at 106 East Main Street follows Hop N Pizza and Grinders which closed July 10 after nine years. Owner Linda De Jonge Barnes plans future roles for staff and community. Martin Bernal, listed director and owner of multiple local chains, also runs Taqueria Vallarta in Holland. Hours are 11 am to 10 pm Sunday through Thursday and 11 am to 10:30 pm Friday and Saturday.

Two injuries in Crockery Township rollover crash on I-96
A Toyota Tundra driven by a 36 year old Allendale man hit black ice on an overpass in Crockery Township.
