Brennaman speaks on penance after on-air slur fallout
Thom Brennaman told Scott Sloan he is ashamed and embarrassed for using a homophobic slur on FOX Sports Ohio. He resigned from Reds and FOX, reflecting on loss, forgiveness, and his drive to prove he can move forward with his family and career. Brennaman expressed gratitude for support from the LGBTQ community and friends while noting enduring public scrutiny. He discussed visiting coach Bob Huggins and urged youths and corporations to learn from his mistake. He denied being a homophobe and said he will not repeat the slur. He also referenced a letter published in The Enquirer after his apology.
