The senior class enrollment is nearly as large as last year’s historic cohort. Vic Jackson of Okemos recalls the 1969 60 mile solo crossing of Lake Michigan from Ludington to Manitowoc in a 250 pound cast iron tub with a 20 horsepower outboard. The feat, done for a five dollar bet, drew global media attention and a later book Crossing Lake Michigan in a Bathtub.
