Dangerous lake conditions linger at Michigan beaches
The National Weather Service warned of hazardous conditions at Whitecap waves from Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday, August 22, with Holland State Park and North Beach at South Haven marked as particularly dangerous. Strong longshore and structural currents, plus rip currents, could prevent swimmers from reaching shore. Officials urged staying out of the water as winds ease and the sea calms, noting hypothermia risk from colder waters inland.
