LRE seeks hearing to overturn Medicaid contract cancellation
The Lakeshore Regional Entity, serving seven West Michigan counties, asked the Michigan Administrative Hearing System for a hearing to overturn MDHHS's cancellation of its Medicaid HCBS contract. Spark Lab marks one year at Holland Museum with cake
The interactive Smithsonian Spark Lab at Holland Museum celebrated its one year milestone this month with a birthday cake. Since opening in August 2018, the exhibit has 74 new Holland Museum members and a 23 percent rise in family memberships. Lincoln Levine said the two year Smithsonian agreement keeps the adaptable exhibit open, with regular changes and extra space for quarterly artifact swaps. The bright room near the main gallery hosts problem solving stations for kids, while schools and community groups can receive portable activities.

Holland Hospital to launch school mental health program
Holland Hospital will start a school mental health program for 2019 20 at Holland Middle and Holland High School to aid at risk students after risk assessments. A school mental health care manager will lead early intervention and coordination with nurses, physicians, and outside agencies to improve access to care. The program seeks to break cycles of trauma and self harm amid rising teen distress with grants totaling 70 000 from the Holland Zeeland Community Foundation 3000 from Lake Michigan Credit Union and a donation from the Julie and Kirk Cousins Foundation.
