Bicycle boom in Holland outpaces nation

Holland sees a 281 percent rise in bicycling since 2000, far above the 51 percent national gain. Benefits include better air quality, fewer asthma attacks, less cardiovascular disease, longer lasting streets, quieter neighborhoods, and fewer crashes. Key factors are 200 miles of shared use paths, 70 miles of on street routes, and Green Commute Week.
