Frank M. Murphy, prominent Southwest developer and railway founder, died in Prescott after a long illness. He chaired the Prescott National Bank from 1893 to 1910, built the Santa Fe, Prescott and Phoenix railway, and led mining and business ventures in Tombstone, Silver Belt, and Sasco districts. His brother Oakes Murphy was a territorial governor. Body sent to Ontario, California for burial.

Bonds payable in gold or equivalent, to be issued for sale per May 7 1917 order.
