Holbrook enters a building boom as Br. L. Newman awards a contractor for a southeast corner project at the Holbrook hotel block. Chas. E. Perkins to finish by July 20 for a barber shop and bath house with W. R. Crogs to move in by August 1. Plans show a two story 40 by 80 foot structure with an opera hall on top and lodge hall above. R. D. Greer buys two south side lots from Julius Wetzler to build a brick residence this fall.

Winslow marshal Chas E. Bledsoe was struck on the jaw by Ben Rubi while trying to separate a crowd. The blow fractured the jaw in two places. Rubi approached and struck him, possibly with a bottle or similar object, Sunday evening.
