Mr and Mrs Hammond of Reams Canyon with Mrs Hammond s sister and her husband Mr and Mrs A C Merriman and their daughter Miss Merriman were in Holbrook Monday en route to White Mountain for a fishing trip near Springerville They carry equipment and hope to catch big ones.
The Adamana hotel changes hands becoming the property of Mr and Mrs James Donohoe who have managed the property recently They will also operate the transportation service for travelers wishing to visit local attractions The Holbrook News extends best wishes to the new owners in their venture.
Fay and his wife long-time Holbrook residents depart for Denver this week. They are joined by Mr. Griffith recently severed from the Commercial Hotel and Elwood Crouse. The party will travel north via Gallup Shiprock toward Colorado. Fay plans to visit Great Falls Montana from Leaver. Elwood may accompany north.
Miss Mildred Merriman visits Miss Katherine Rees and aunt Mrs Hammond at Reams Canyon staying in Holbrook. She recalls an eventful trip from the reservation after rattlesnakes invaded their camp and had to be removed. The snakes reportedly would have preferred attending the annual snake dance.
Mr and Mrs McCormick came back Sunday after about three weeks away visiting Prescott Flagstaff and the White Mountains They enjoyed cool weather at Flagstaff and plan to stay at Diamond Rock Lodge for mountain scenery and fishing In Winslow John Conners and Mrs Osborne attended a ball game and noted changes in weather Uncle John and Henry Lee were seen at local events in Winslow during the weekend

Mrs Frank Wallace left last week for a month at the ranch in the mountains. She may return early if altitude proves too high. She is accompanied by Mr Alf Riggs and Mrs Riggs who will stay for a couple of weeks among the pines near the rim.
Bert Johnson and James Reeder visited Adamana on Friday on No 22. Henry Lopez and Phillip Montano also went up but left on No 10. Wetziers advertises trunks and traveling bags. Ady Frank Mathews came from the Scott ranch near Pinedale. Wm Morgan and family were in town, rain fell between here and Snowflake improving feed. Mrs Ed Hennessey and Leela returned from Adamana, Mrs Diverbess was in Winslow last week.
Capt R H Thomas of Denver toured the area by airplane for days and left for Winslow on Thursday. Holbrook residents joined the thrill, with Toelle, Ernest Hulet, and Mac Evans taking flights and enjoying the risk of banking and side-slipping.

W Crouse long time Supt and Special Disbursing Agent for the government at Whiteriver now resides in the Salt River valley. He sent Holbrook friends crates of delicious cantaloupes from that district. One crate went to the J E Crosby family and another to the C H Jordans.
The man known as Jersey departed from a Phoenix institution where he was placed and is now in Flagstaff. He longs for Holbrook and its surroundings where he lived for years. Judge Geo. H. Crosby was in town late last week.
A. Be Owens as Chairman of the Navajo County Board of Equalization and C. E. Owens as Chairman of the Navajo County Board of Supervisors are recorded with M. R. Tanner as Clerk, attesting to the official oath of office.
