Paul McCrory, 45, an oil field worker who has been in the local field for three years, died Sunday, June 16, at his home here. Interment followed Monday afternoon at North Cemetery. He had no known surviving relatives and left a wide circle of friends in the oil fields.

Hobbs adopts liquor traffic ordinance as fines levied
In Hobbs Texas an ordinance regulating liquor sales becomes effective June 30. Steve Taylor and Bill Parnell were fined 100 dollars each plus costs after pleading guilty to possessing and killing antelope, while State Cattle Inspector Clarence Shannon reported three animals found in their car. The ordinance sets license fees and hours, prohibiting sales from 1 to 8 a m and Sunday limits, with further restrictions on miners and broken package sales.
