Ancient Kane idol found near Kawaibae beach in Hawaii
A four and a half foot black stone image of the Hawaiian god Kane was unearthed near Kawaibae by a native remodeling his home. The statue’s features are well defined though ugly, and a photograph was taken by Eben Low and Deputy Attorney General Prosser. The idol now stands in the homeowner’s yard. The Honolulu Advertiser notes Chamber pledges of 1250 dollars monthly for the Promotion Committee and reports the Chamber’s invitation to join the National Board of Trade, led by its Washington based president.
