Varied Industries to Be Encouraged by Board of Trade

The Board of Trade in Hilo met to discuss revenue for county government in Hawaii and urged that income taxes be diverted to county treasuries. They reviewed land for Hilo water supply, misdescriptions affecting a federal building site, and endorsed distilleries and varied industry promotion along with infrastructure for long term prosperity.

Hawaii Territory counties bill proposes five divisions

Representative Carl S. Smith introduces bill No 55 to create counties Oahu Maui Kalawao West Hawaii East Hawaii and Kauai with seats in Honolulu Wailuku Kailua Hilo and Lihue. Three nautical miles offshore included. Kalawao excluded from county rules. Kalawao under Board of Health control. Act takes effect on approval. Chamberlain's Cholera and Diarrhoea Remedy ad ends.
