Pearl Harbor Deemed No Value as Naval Station

Honolulu December 25 Rear Admiral Robley D Evans said Pearl Harbor in its present condition is of no value for a naval station. He warned that until the lochs approaches are straightened, battleships and cruisers cannot enter. He noted the channel would cost millions to modify and that the fleet might be brought in only with tug assistance. The visit changed his prior view that Pearl Harbor could be used, and he questioned future plans. Also listed are juries for the Hilo federal court, steamship schedules, bonds for county officials, and assorted international dispatches.
