July 1905 Finance Committee approves payrolls and bills

Finance committee reports July salaries and outstanding bills totaling 1898.32 for seven supervisors, county officials, and eight deputies. They authorize monthly certification to the auditor, with warrants paid from the general fund. Also approve specific road board and former road board payments, disallow some claims, and deny extra allowances while endorsing a future Hilo band subsidy pending overall finances.

Bark Albert Brings Lumber Cargo To Honolulu

The Bark Albert arrived Friday night from Port Townsend carrying 723,444 feet of lumber and 100,000 shingles for H. Hackfeld & Co. Miss Daguma Anderson, recently employed in the Telephone Office, is recovering from a mild diphtheria and is quarantined with the Lucio family on King Street. A union meeting at Halli Church Sunday evening will be led by Rev. Esha with a program and music from local Sunday Schools. Mrs. A. K. Lewis and relatives of Honolulu returned home last Friday.
