Guardianship petition heard in Fourth Circuit Court Hawaii

United States territory of Hawaii in the Fourth Circuit Court schedules a hearing for the guardianship petition of George Kaabiki and Amegrakl Jutimore. Sam Kaas Niki files to appoint guardian. The court at Hilo will hear on May 1, 1904 at 9:00 a.m. all parties may appear and contest the petition. Daniel Porter, Clerk, with Deputy Clerk Chas Hitchcock. Attorney B Ray represents petitioner.

Achi Seeks to Stem Territorial Party Participation

Senator Achi announces a campaign to educate Hawaiians against participation of Territorial officials in Republican conventions. He cites Monday night convention results as proof and plans to print literature to deter officials from political roles. He will stay in the party and fight for reform within it. Battleship Petropavlovsk Sinks at Port Arthur

Port Arthur reports a crushing blow to the Russian navy as the battleship Petropavlovsk struck a mine, turned turtle, and sank with 806 officers and men including Admiral Makaroff. Grand Duke Cyril was wounded. five officers and 35 men were saved. The battle with 40 Japanese ships continues amid Russian dismay. Prince Outkomsky assumes command.

Campbell is New Treasurer Takes Charge in Territory

A. J. Campbell the new Territorial treasurer formally took charge as Judge Kepoikai surrendered the keys and the treasury books began to be audited. Auditor Fisher started checking cash as customary in such transitions. The report notes little cash in the strong box.
