Beauty Not Enough Mrs Eisler Urges Conservation Commission

The Environmental Science Club of Hillside High School and NICCA distribute a flier urging a Conservation Commission for Hillside Township. The proposal, raised publicly December 20 by Mrs. Edgar Kistler, meets skepticism from Mayor Carmen Ferrigno who wants more study before action. Mrs. Eisler co authored Hillside's Air Pollution Ordinance.

Conservation Commission proposal discussed in Hillside meeting

Mrs. Eisler outlined a non autonomous advisory Conservation Commission for the township to study open space preservation pollution control waste disposal and ecology. The idea follows August 1968 New Jersey legislation with 65 towns already enacting commissions. A program called Gold In Garbage Day on November 14 invites residents to separate refuse to Hillside Department of Public Works for recycling and fund township projects.

Hillside Candidate Rullis Promises Taxpayer Aid

Independent Township Committee candidate Anthony O Rullis told a Hillside Taxpayers Association gathering that both parties seek tax answers. He unveiled a 1970 platform of clean honest government and service for all people, while the association announced its active NJ Taxpayers Association membership in Trenton.
