Defense Firemen Gather Over 10 Tons of Scrap Paper

Levy Increases Total 665 690 For New Hillside Constructions

Added levy of 665 690 and added assessments total 665 690 cover new construction in Hillside since Oct 1 1952. Reported to Union County Board of Taxation by the local Board of Assessors this week. These additions will be included in the 1954 total, with regular 1954 assessments due January 10. At the 1953 tax rate of 5.80 the added assessments would yield 38 61002 in taxes.

They demonstrated two films How to Call the Fire Department and What to Do Until the Fire Department Arrives plus tips on locating a firebox or phone and giving exact location quickly. They stressed that the first five minutes are crucial to summon aid and explained various fire extinguishers for wood and paper fires inflammable liquids and electrical equipment.
