Licenses for 60 bowling alleys and 10 pool tables were approved for Fun Fair Rowl at 1319 North Broad Street pending police and fire chiefs’ OK. FMBA To Give PAL Ice Cream Machine
Hillside Local 35 FMBA voted Monday night to donate an ice cream dispensing machine to the new Hillside PAL building. President Charles Callendrello named Fireman Charles Horvath as public relations committee chair, with Captain Peter Ferrigno, Firemen Peter Capra, Thomas Mateer, and Lorne Foran as members. Firemen Anthony Scarola and Nathan Grossman, appointed May 1, were elected to membership. Honorary FMBA tickets go on sale Saturday, October 29 at the Ward Memorial Building.

The Hillside Democratic Party opened its campaign headquarters Monday night at 1415 Maple Avenue in the former Merkle Motors building. Mayor W. William Di Buono presided with over 60 attendees. Di Buono said the office would be open daily until election day and campaign material for all Democrats from Senator Kennedy to local candidates would be available. Commissioners Dischler Desch Birnbaum attended as Schleifer and Mancuso urged workers to inform voters of past admin achievements and highlight qualifications and experience to carry on the work.
