Hillside to Get New Look With Major Construction Plans
Hillside officials endorsed three zoning variances for major projects. Bristol-Myers will build a $1,440,000 research laboratory on Liberty Avenue, a five story reinforced concrete facility housing biology and chemistry labs with a library that will employ about 100 people and possibly add 75 more within a year. A Broad Realty office building next to Hess Gasoline Station on North Broad Street is planned as a two and one half story modern design, with spring construction. A third project involves Jay Syrup moving to Hillside Bloy Street, creating office warehousing space in a 2 story structure, with completion expected in late March.
