Esther Lasker, 15, of 856 Winchester Ave, was hit while crossing Plymouth Road by driver Robert F. Hartkopf, 18, of 382 Florence Ave. She suffered cuts on her left knee and back pains. Hartkopf said he turned left into the street and did not realize he had struck her until stopping. other Hillside High students notified him.

Four Car Crash Injures Two On N Broad Street
A four car crash on N Broad Street at Bailey Avenue left two drivers with injuries. Alfred P Karl Jr, 44, of 19 Harden Street and Joseph M Rybczynski, 20, of 868 Sheridan Avenue Elizabeth were involved. Samuel Sheitelman, 59, of 12 Highview Road Short Hills turned left in front of the Rybczynski vehicle, hitting the Hertz Rent A Car unit. Karl refused medical aid. Rybczynski, complaining of chest pains, was hospitalized at St Elizabeth Hospital.
