The National State Bank in Elizabeth hosted a lounge ceremony for 255 years of service.Executives Miss Esther I. Martin and Everett A. Heim plus five officers, all with 40 to 45 years of service, received honors. a specially inscribed cake marked the occasion attended by much of the bank staff.

Fifty five John Hancock Mutual Life Insurance general agents gathered at the Boston home office for the Lifeline Career Conference this week. Among them two Hillside men Antonio P. Alvarez of 38 Williamson Ave and Humberto Fernandez of 1296 Bright St served with the Newark general agency at 570 Broad St. Fernandez joined John Hancock in Oct 1967 and is active in the Hillside High School PTA. Alvarez joined in Aug 1967 and has studied at the University of Havana.
