Memorialway Parade Set For Memorial Day Observances
The annual Memorialway parade will run Monday between 10 and 11 a.m., with services at Evergreen Cemetery at 11. For the first time the parade is directed by the U S War Veterans Memorial Building Association. It forms at Hillside High School and along Liberty Avenue for review by the Township Committee and Mayor Robert Diamond. Prayer at the flagpole and a wreath ceremony precede the parade route through Memorial Price and Highland to Hillsite to Hillside Avenue and N Broad to Cow Avenue at Evergreen Cemetery where Rev Howard J Kinesley will speak at the graves of Civil War veterans. Hillside Avenue School Orchestra Concert Highlights
The Hillside Avenue School orchestra presented its annual concert on May 25 under director Seymour Stein. The program had two parts with beginner and advanced students, including a trumpet solo a saxophone trio a flute quartet and two clarinet quartets. Violinist Marilyn Kuner an eighth grader and two year Jr All-State Orchestra member performed selections from The King and I.

Deadlock at Lionel as strike enters third week
