A Hillside planning meeting with 25 local groups discussed a year of observances for the town 50th anniversary. Mayor Sidney Birnbaum announced special events including a parade contests band concert fireworks display education events and a industrial fair. Co chairs are John A. Desch Charles S. Mancus and Robert Diamond. The committee will reconvene June 12.
