Good Education Group Elects Hillside Officers

The Good Education Committee of Hillside met at Joseph Ram's home on Trinity Place Tuesday night to elect officers and appoint committee chairs. Allan L. Turmakin was named president, with Mrs. Caroline Major and Mrs. Jean Rausch as 1st and 2nd vice presidents, Milton Caris as financial secretary, Albert Rothbard as recording secretary, and Adolph Winston as treasurer. Chairs include Sidney Englander constitution and by laws, Lawrence Levitaz Kiaigon Rothbard publicity, and Mrs. Goldye Flieder program. The group pledged to improve the school system and promote good education. Refreshments were served by host Mrs. Sylvia Ram.

Plan Dedication Of Flag And Pole For Vet Memorial

A stainless steel flagpole and nylon flag dedication will be held at 9:30 to 10 am Memorial Day at the Veterans Memorial Building Liberty Avenue. Harry J. Luftman will introduce Sidney Silverstein, with William O. Hebler delivering the address. The parade units assemble at the building for services, then proceed to Evergreen Cemetery for concluding rites.
