Hillside PAL Drive Extended to Support Youth Facility
Hillside Police Athletic League extends its third annual fund drive through the week after informal reports show over 500 dollars raised. The building costs rely on about 400 dollars monthly for utilities and equipment, with township covering insurance and salaries. PAL, formed in 1958 for youths aged 13 to 21, opened its building in 1960 with 40,000 dollars from the Hillside Industrial Foundation. one third of costs remains unpaid. Paul Kifner, president, and Mrs. Kifner will assist during Detective Alois J. Stier’s vacation. a table tennis tournament is planned next week.
