C Stewart Mead of the New Jersey Auto Club AAA presented the awards as the 23rd annual and largest contest yet with 2200 schools in 34 states Canada and Okinawa participating and 6875 dollars awarded to winners.
William C. Stark of 15 Summer Ave was installed as president of the Hillside Lions Club succeeding Dominick P. Peterpaul and Dr. Walter O. Krumbiegel. Officers for the next year include G Allan Schuhmann first vice president and Dr. Robert Parker second vice president.
Bank deposits reach a new high of 730.8 million reflecting a 9.5 percent gain year over year.
