The Hillside Summer Band will give its first Conant Park concert on Tuesday July 13 at 730 PM by the Elizabeth River. Free admission with audience urged to bring chairs. The program features standard popular and patriotic selections and an intermission by A Different Specialty led by Charlotte Poole on electric violin performing Our Last Good-bye.

Two men robbed the Siegmeister Company at 1407 Chestnut Avenue Friday afternoon, taking payroll cash totaling 500 dollars, 200 from a cash box, 200 from Robert Slegmeister of West Orange, and 210 from a desk. They entered through a side door, ordered employees to lie down, and fled in a late model car. Police described the suspects as Negro men and pursued the case.

Library Begins Story Sessions at Hillside Public Library

Police Contract Signed Rules Town Not Liable For Wall
The Appellate Division of New Jersey's Superior Court ruled the town not responsible for repairing a dangerous retaining wall that borders Magdon property. Magdon, who bought the land in 1958, argued the wall cracked and risked his home. The court found the wall not a public nuisance and not a town expense. Magdon may appeal to the New Jersey Supreme Court.
