Mayor Milton B. Conford announced the Township Committee will meet February 5 at 8 p.m. in the Municipal Building with the Citizens Advisory Committee and civic organization reps to discuss the budget. A second meeting February 10 at 8:30 p.m. will cover plans for the new Municipal Building.
The Hurden-Looker School PTA executive board met at Mrs Vaughn Stiles home to finalize arrangements for a card party slated for Thursday night February 19 in the Curtis Room at the school.
The Girl Scout Council of Elizabeth Hillside and Linden seeks about 80000 to buy 110 acre Swartswood site with lake frontage and facilities, expanding from current 3 acre Bear Mountain camp used by 78 scouts while 100 requests are turned away. Community Chest supports the capital funds drive for a larger camp and improved equipment.
The Good Education Committee of Hillside hosted Candidates Night at Hillside Avenue School. Ten candidates from the field debated budget, vocational education, and reforms with emphasis on board experience, student welfare, and tax implications.
Andrew V Aldi seeks a seat on the Board of Education promising to improve schools for all children. He commends the current board, pledges openness to suggestions, and urges support on Election Day February 10 1953 with voting from 4 to 9 PM.

Hundreds attended the funeral at Temple Oheb Shalom Newark for Grace Henoch wife of Philip B Henoch of Hillside New Jersey who died Friday after a heart attack in West Palm Beach Florida. She was 50 and had been active in civic and fraternal groups including the High School PTA Jewish Community Council Hillside and Fidelity Lodge U O T S. Survivors include her husband two sons Arthur and Herbert a daughter Sandra two grandchildren and a brother Samuel Solman. Interment was at Bnai Abraham Memorial Park Union.
The Mothers Circle of Hillside Presbyterian Church hosts a Valentine party on Friday February 13 at 8 o clock with movies a surprise and refreshments. Mrs Zelda Kahn and her son Randy of 421 Hollywood Avenue visit Mrs Lucille Nass in Athens Ohio.
About 102 machinists of Local 437 halted work at Cooper Alloy Foundry on Bloy street and Ramsey avenue, with 320 others not crossing the picket line. The walkout began Tuesday and police remain to maintain quiet as contract talks, ongoing since December, stalled over pay for reclassified workers and pension benefits.
Elizabethtown Water Company won state approval to pump 1.5 million gallons daily from local wells with a 20 year limit. Local industries objected to 3 million gallons, may appeal by February 19. Restrictions require three observation wells and saltwater safeguards.

Gustav A. Falzer 68, prominent sports writer, died Monday night at his Orange home after a long Newark News career. He broadcast coast-to-coast college football and did the first World Series radio play by play. Survived by wife Edna, daughter, sisters, and two grandchildren. services at Smith and Smith Home for Services and burial at Fairmount Cemetery.
Frederick L. Heyer, class of 1924, Plainfield, was chosen president of the Pingry Alumni Association for a one year term at a meeting in the Lower School Building. He serves among directors with terms ending January 1955.
