Comets Fall To Jefferson And South Side In Holiday Tourney
In the Hillside Holiday Tournament Thomas Jefferson High School of Elizabeth defeated South Side 54 to 38 after an early 12-11 deadlock and a 15-2 Jefferson run. Fairlawn beat Hillside 48 to 40, while Jefferson dominated Fairlawn in the finale with strong defense and key contributions from Gass, Baranowski, Wooten, and Jama.

Junior Girl Scouts host Hill Side luncheon toys drive
Troop 250 led by Mrs Vincent Positen and Mrs George Tremarco visited Hillside Avenue School classes supervised by Mrs Hanna Wurtzel and Mrs Levine. They presented games and toys including ring toss tic tac toe and bean bag. Attendees included Elaine Fogerty Donna Fredo Florbella Goss Debra Jacobowitz Sandra Leddings Debra Marks Karen Positan Benita Swierzko Anna Marie Tremarco Randy Toltz Denise Azzolino and principals Mrs Stahnten and Miss Doll. This marked the scouts first community project.

A community ambulance squad organized January 25 1952 operates two fully equipped ambulances and plans a second Cadillac purchase. It serves all by phone 926 5800 and through the police department, offering transport to doctors and hospital beds while raising funds locally. The squad prides itself on devotion and offers membership to qualified volunteers.

Patrolman William Moeller reports a car driven by Marlene Hershkowitz of 23 Harding Ter Newark skidded into the Jones vehicle. Jones refused medical aid, saying he would see his own doctor.
