Fire destroyed the interior of the Jiffy Manufacturing Co office building at 360 Florence Ave. Firefighters, ruled to have started from faulty wiring near a Christmas tree, battled dense smoke as they ventilated the blaze. The first floor suffered major damage while the basement had smoke and water damage. Repairs will begin soon. the building opened in 1965 after the company moved from Massachusetts. The deputy fire chief had been sworn in six hours earlier.
