Budget Hearings Set as Schools Approve 1962-63 Plan
The Board of Education approved a tentative budget for 1962-63 totaling 2,190,903 with a 13 to 14 point tax rate increase expected. Public hearing is set for January 31 at 8 p.m. in the Administration Building. Voters will also decide February 13 on Current Expense 2,004,646 and a $25,000 field house at Woodfield Stadium. Salary guides for 1962-63 raise minimums to 4,800 5,000 and 5,200 with corresponding maximums of 8,200 8,600 and 9,000. The board also extended the time between minimum and maximum pay.

Hillside Kiwanis Club members and guests left Townley’s Union parking lot to pick up fifty local YoungStars fitted in winter clothes for Christmas.
