Miss Eastern County Junior Miss pageant shines at Hillside High

In a Sunday night Hillside area event, 19 senior girls from local high schools competed for Miss Eastern County Junior Miss. Judges faced difficulty selecting a winner as each contestant carried herself with dignity and charm. The Hillside Jaycees organized the pageant and were praised for encouraging youth and dedicating long hours to produce a successful second edition.

Injured In Elizabeth Explosion At Post Office

Leo Dulberger twenty of S08 Tillman Street sustained facial cuts burns and smoke inhalation after a parcel post package exploded in the Elizabeth post office. He was among twelve people in the package sorting room. four others were injured one critically. The package was picked up at the Elizabeth post office. The Hillside and Industrial Offices store are part of the Elizabeth area.

New Furniture Store Opens Soon in Newark

Gottfried’s Upholstering and Furniture Co of Newark will open a large showroom at 132 Liberty Ave on or about December 15. The public is invited to view displays of various furniture designs and coordinated furnishings.
