Supermarkets Co declares extra dividend and record earnings
Supermarkets Operating Co. reported that the board declared an extra 0.05 per share dividend in addition to the regular 0.05 dividend, payable September 16 to holders of record September 3. Chairman Alex Aiderman said the gains reflect record sales and earnings in the last thirteen weeks of the year ended June 30, with preliminary figures showing about 60 percent higher sales and even larger earnings gains. Full year results also reached record levels, with audited statements forthcoming.
