The Hillside Public Schools will open on Wednesday September 9 at regular times. New pupils must register August 31 from 9 AM to 12 noon. An orientation for ninth graders and new pupils will be held September 4 at 1 PM in the high school auditorium.

Budget figures show 21 counties budgeting 118 million for personal services in 1964, up 8 million from 1963. Hudson budgets 18,631, down 2.7 percent. Essex tops at 29,662,966. Union's 1964 budget stands at 8,583,034, a 6.67 percent increase from 1963.
The Board of Directors of the National State Bank of Elizabeth declares a quarterly dividend of 20 cents per share payable Sept. 14 to stockholders of record Aug. 28. This raises the annual dividend to 80 cents, up five cents per share from prior payments.
