UNICO Installs New President in Hillside Chapter
Russell Raffa of 277 Fitzpatrick Street was installed as president of the Hillside Chapter UNICO National at The Washington House North Plainfield last Saturday night. About 70 members with wives and friends attended. The event featured an invocation by Louis Marmamano, a telegram from National President James DiRenny, and installation of officers including Jack G. Valenti and Domino DiVoni. A delegation to the National Convention in Atlantic City was announced for August 25 to 29.

Hillside opens new Central Avenue recreation facilities
Hillside officials led by bar chairman Sanford Goldberg and Mayor Robert Diamond announce the full operation of new Central Avenue playground facilities beside the Hillside Community Swimming Pool. The complex includes softball, basketball, volleyball, handball, shuffleboard, horseshoes, a children's outdoor gym and games. Residents from age four to ninety four are seen enjoying dawn to dusk. The basketball courts are busy, girls favor supervised volleyball, adults use paddleball and the new softball diamond. The pool commission members extend a warm invitation to all Hillside residents and thank the commission for making the project possible.
