Summer Playgrounds Parade of Bonnets at Conant Street
At Conant Street playground last Friday the annual bonnet parade drew a large turnout. Laurie Rothstein wore the prettiest hat and Joh Kozarek had the fluffiest. Martha Bundza and Maya Bundza earned best useful hats, Amy Galowitz claimed best all around, and many others won prizes for unusual, original, or tallest hats. A stuffed animal show followed with winners announced for biggest, smallest, fluffiest, most colorful, and more. Activities included checker tournaments, plaster of Paris crafts, and a peanut hunt with top peanut finds noted. The week included baton twirling lessons, carroms playoffs, and ongoing sports practices.
