Hillside Little League Preseason Parade Sets April 27
The Hillside Little League announces its tenth season with a preseason parade on Saturday morning April 27. The 9:30 am march begins at George Washington school playground and proceeds along Liberty and Herbert Aves to the Little League stadium on Gard Ave. Participants include Little League and Minor League teams, police, fire and civil defense units, local associations, and sponsoring service clubs. Games will be held at the Little League Stadium and Conant St. softball field on Mon through Thu each week with American and National leagues operating.

Anthony H. Lamb of 66 King Street has been named chairman of the Naval Mine Warfare Committee of the American Ordnance Association after a two day session at the Naval Antisics Lab in Seattle. He previously served as deputy chairman and has long been active in naval affairs since World War II. He earned a 1945 personal citation from Admiral Hussey.

The L. Zimmerman & Sons, Inc. firm based at 278 Hillside Ave. traces its roots to Louis Zimmerman who founded it in 1915. He built foundations streets sewers and hundreds of homes then shifted to highway work and later to state projects including Newark Airport the New Jersey Turnpike and Garden State Parkway.
