Board of Health Names Sanitarian Joseph Koscin

Middlesex native Joseph Koscin was named sanitarian for the Board of Health at an annual salary of 8000. He is currently a sanitary inspector in Middlesex with American Cyanamid Co. Bound Brook and has completed Rutgers courses in the field. The board mandates measles immunization for all entering school children. In March there were 24 births, 22 deaths, and 11 marriages. Health Officer Charles F. Dotto logged four dog bites, one pet mouse bite and one hamster bite, and conducted 37 sanitary inspections.

Four Injured in Two Car Crash in Newark and Irvington

Four people were injured in a two car crash Sunday at Bloy Street and Chapman Street. Drivers Roland J. Reid, 49 of Newark and Maria M. Gordinho, 19 of Newark were hurt, along with passengers Caroei Valiante, 12 of Newark and Carmen Col, 14 of Irvington.

Primary May Be Postponed to September

Passover Services Begin Across Two Synagogues in Hillside

Passover starts at sundown Monday April 24 with services at Sinai Congregation Hillside 7:00 P.M. and 6:30 P.M. on April 25, plus morning sessions April 26.
