Township to Use Radar for Speedometer Checks

Trio Caught After Two Auto Crashes
Three Newark youths were arrested last Thursday after a stolen auto they rode in crashed into a 1960 Cadillac at Maple and Williamson. Ivory Jones, 19, driver, George Chapman, 18, and a 16 year old juvenile were later turned over to Newark detectives. The stolen car had been taken in Newark about a week earlier from Dr. Jack Greeybers and had altered plates. The fleeing auto collided with Oscar Zucker and Norman Tilbor, injuring two passengers in Tilbor’s car. the juvenile was captured by a Maple avenue shop owner, and Jones and Chapman were arrested after a police sweep.

The Board of Education named Joseph Silver acting director of physical education and athletics, with debate on permanent status and a requirement of three years' experience supervising 22 staff before a permanent appointment could be made. Education Board Sued Over High School Addition

Carr ie Wallace pleads guilty to drunken driving in Newark
Mrs. Carrie Wallace 54 of 23 Tillsidesplace Newark pled guilty in Municipal Court to drunken driving last Thursday and was fined 205 by Magistrate Harry Goldhor. A license check revealed revocation in August 1957 and a second fine of 108 for driving while revoked. She was arrested March 40 on North Broad street after erratic driving, deemed unfit to drive. Police said revocation followed two accidents and failed re-examination. She claimed to have applied for a license in Trenton. The magistrate revoked her license for two years from restoration. May or Y. William Di Buono is the only Hillsider seeking a township political nomination in next Tuesday's Primary. Other contests include GOP for U S Senate and Congress, with Case seeking reelection and facing Dearborn and Morris. GOP Freeholder slate and Democratic opposition feature multiple candidates and district delegate contests. No township committee contests in either party.
