Rickerhauser charged after Hillside bus collision
John Rickerhauser of 248 Pennsylvania Ave released on 350 bail after his car collided with a bus on North Broad Street near Mertz Avenue. He left the scene and his license was revoked. Patrolman Samuel Hyland halted him at Mann Avenue after the turn into Mertz Avenue.

Freeholder Manner to Speak at Hillside GOP Club Seminar

Manner, Union County Freeholder and former Berkeley Heights mayor, will be the third speaker at the Hillside Republican Club seminar How to Win Municipal Elections on Monday April 14 at the College Inn. He is a former township committee member and three time mayor and holds life memberships in several associations. Eva M Pulik will receive a Certificate of Appreciation for 15 years of Republican Party service and active committee participation. The meeting starts 8 p.m with program at 9 p.m and refreshments at 9 30 p.m. Public invited.

Hillside Republican Club staged its first fashion show Swing into Spring on March 21 at the Elizabethtown Gas auditorium. Co Chairs Nancy Light Mary Ann Sasso and Carole Ann Witte planned the event with Reinhardt's Sportique of Union providing looks for spring. Showcased models included Patty Brain Alice Gillmore Rita Loeb Mary Ann Sasso Judy Shields Mildred Weishaps Carol Ann Witte and Nancy Light noted ensembles and Salon 41 styled hair. Local merchants donated prizes and Moran's Flowers provided carnations while club members baked desserts.
