On Sunday April 4, 160 volunteers from Hillside schools completed the Fourth Annual Do-Some-I-Walk. The 20 mile charity walk started at 9am at the Community Center, with pledges expected to push receipts above 2000 dollars. Wendy West from A.P Morris raised over 400 dollars.

Hillside lowers property tax with state funds pledge

State Sen. Alexander Menza introduces a bill to ratify the purchase of 30 acres occupied by Pingry School. The Education Department will pay 4.65 million for the tract to use as a facility for severely handicapped youths from Union and neighboring counties, with takeover not expected until 1978.
